Services
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination for all pets until they turn 7 years old. For pets older than 7, we recommend twice a year physical examinations. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
Surgical Services: Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures. We are happy to offer Laser Surgery for a variety of procedures to reduce pain, swelling, and bleeding.
Acupuncture: Dr. Barbara Butler is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture. This is a type of treatment that takes a different approach from Western Medicine and has been a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years.
Chinese Herbs & Massage: Dr. Butler is also trained in the use of Chinese Herbs and massage to improve the health of our pets.
Behavior Medicine: Dr. Emily Kinnaird's passion is behavioral medicine and she is pleased to offer behavioral counseling to our clients and patients referred from other practices. She has a masters of veterinary science from the University of Queensland, Australia, where she taught veterinary medicine for six years and ran behavior clinics. She can provide help regarding the correction of problems such as anxiety and fears, excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.
Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures. Our monitoring includes: heart rate, respirations, pulse oxygen, CO2, and blood pressure. We have licensed veterinary technicians monitoring every patient.
Ultrasound Services: Dr. John Gruss has special training in veterinary ultrasound. This equipment is non-invasive and allows him to visualize our patient's internal organs in great detail.
Internal Medicine and Oncology consults: We offer in-hospital referrals to internal medicine specialists and oncologists who perform specialized ultrasounds, endoscopic procedures and helps us with the diagnosis and
treatment of more complicated cases.
Surgical consults: We also offer referrals to board certified veterinary surgeons who perform specialized surgical procedures including soft tissue, orthopedic, and cancer surgeries.

Radiology Services: Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.

Dental Radiology Services: Our dental X-ray equipment allows us to visualize the bones of the mouth and teeth roots. This allows us to evaluate tooth injury and abnormalities so we can improve our patient's oral health.
Electrocardiography Services: We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists.
Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
