Catherine Bega, LVT
Catherine has been working as a licensed technician for nineteen years. She has been with Earlysville Animal Hospital since 2000. Catherine has two beagles, Daisy and Rascal and a cat named Goldilocks. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.






 

 

 
 

Melody Billups

Melody has lived in Greene County all her life. She and her husband share their home with their son matthew and seven dogs: 4 Shih-tzu's, 1 Yorkshire Terrier, 1 Yorkie-Lhasa Apsa mix and 1 Pit Bull mix. When not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as watching and attending nascar races.






 

 

 

 


 

 
Leslie Cook, LVT

Leslie moved to Charlottesville in 2000 after graduating from Georgetown University with an undergraduate degree in English. She worked for two years in a small animal practice in Charlottesville, then spent two years working in an administrative position in an equine clinic. Leslie attended BRCC to become a LVT. She has two dogs, two cats, 9 chickens, and two horses. Leslie enjoys spending her free time riding and going for hikes with her dogs. Leslie lives in Earlysville with her husband, Jimmy, and daughter, Cora, and is happy to have found such a wonderful place to work so close to home. 



 

 

 

 




Meg Gerth

Meg grew up in eastern Pennsylvania. She moved to Charlottesville in 2000 to attend the University of Virginia, graduating with undergraduate degrees in biology and psychology, as well as a Masters of Teaching in secondary science education. Then she spent three years teaching biology and ecology to some of the wonderful children at Madison County High School.   She now lives in Earlysville and has one dog, a boxer/pit bull mix named Jack, who loves to give out kisses (see left). Meg enjoys hiking, ultimate frisbee, capering, puzzles and games of all sorts, learning new useless talents, and working at the Earlysville Animal Hospital.  

 

 

 


 

Kelley Herring Shifflett
Kelley is a native of Albemarle County and has been with the practice since 1993. Kelley lives in Earlysville with her husband Stan and their cat Ashley.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends.















 

 

Jeannie Kestner, LVT
Jeannie was born and raised in Waynesboro. She became a LVT in 2001 after graduating from BRCC and has been an employee of the hospital since 2003. She lives with her Chihuahua, Olive and three cats, Jane, Emmit and Clara. When not working, Jeannie enjoys spending her time with family and friends.



















Kim Myers

Kim is a native of California and moved to Virginia in 2001.  She joined our staff in 2004 after her Corgi Lucy ruptured her first cruciate ligament and we got to know both Kim and Lucy very well. She lives in Somerset with her two dogs, two cats and two horses. In her spare time, she enjoys natural horsemanship, trail riding, trap shooting and training her young border collie named Riki.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 






Deb Piereman, LVT
Deb moved to Charlottesville from Chesapeake, Virginia with her husband and their three dogs, Jack, Tammy, and Penelope. She has been a LVT for eight years and graduated from Blue Ridge Community College as part of their first distance education program. She has a daughter who lives in Richmond and a son who is in performing arts and lives in Chicago. Her husband, Chris, is a retired Navy Master Chief and business management consultant.

Deb has also been a volunteer for the Southeastern Virginia Golden Retriever Rescue for ten years and loves assisting adopters find their special pet.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 






Connie Rosene

Connie relocated to Virginia from Ohio and Pennsylvania in 1985 along with her entire extended family. She has a bachelor's degree in business and was in banking for 25 years. She was a long time client at the animal hospital before joining the staff in 1999. She and her husband Mike live in Earlysville with their five dogs: two cocker spaniels, a poodle, a beagle mix and a dachshund mix. Connie and her husband volunteer for CASPCA by taking photographs of every pet that is ready for adoption and posting them on the CASCP webpage.

 

 

 

 

 

 






Kristina Taylor 
Kristina is one of our Receptionists. She grew up in Earlysville and her pet's were Earlysville Animal Hospital patients! Now she has four adult dogs and one puppy and loves to compete at dog shows and other competitions with them. She also loves to ski.

 

 























Jessica Townsend

Jessica was born and raised in Earlysville. She was home schooled from fourth grade through high school graduation. She recently graduated from the Veterinary Assistant program through BRCC. In her spare time, she enjoys creative writing and spending time with family. Jessica currently shares her home with a cat named Molly and a mixed breed dog named Nikki.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 








Johanna Vyborny

Johanna has worked at Earlysville Animal Hospital as a receptionist since 1990 when the clinic moved from its old location in Earlysville Green to its current location. Her dog, Shammy and her cat, Cali became patients of the Gruss' shortly after they opened their practice in 1983. She now shares her home with three cats named January, Ming and Cattail. Her interests include black and white photography and gardening.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 





 

 
Patty Worthington, LVT, CPDT
Patty has been with the practice since 2001. She started out as an assistant then went to NVCC to become a LVT. Originally from Long Island, Patty lived in Phoenix and worked as an accountant before making her home in Virginia. She lives in Free Union with her nine dogs comprised of three Beagles, three Australian Shepherds and three mixed breeds. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, traveling and competing in agility with her dogs.
